East Dunbartonshire Campus is situated in a prime location, on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal, adjacent to Kirkintilloch Town Centre. It forms part of the Southbank area Business and Leisure Park that focuses on tourism, business, education and leisure. Developments within this area include: The Business Park, Southbank Marina, East Dunbartonshire Campus, and a proposed Arts & Cultural Centre and Restaurant. Flexible Learning AreaThis area is situated on the ground floor and provides a welcoming environment to support learners. Opened from 8.45am to 4.15pm (Monday to Friday), this area is staffed by a Senior Learning Assistant, who will support all in accessing resources. There are 30 workstations with internet connection, access to Microsoft Office programmes, and free printing, scanning and photocopying facilities for all. There is also a Study Area and Chill Out Area, where learners can relax, read the daily newspapers, periodicals and journals. Two public access computers are also available to members of the local community, for up to 30 minutes a day. Please contact the Campus on (0141 777 2077) to book or for further information. LibraryThe Campus has a partnership agreement is in place with The William Patrick Library, Kirkintilloch. Resources are held in the library for learners within the Campus. Reference texts are also available in the Flexi Learning Area, and a wide range of resources can also be accessed from the Cumbernauld Campus Library. A transfer system is currently in operation to support study needs. Details of all resources are available on-line from the library catalogue (Heritage). Information AreaThe Campus Information Area includes a programme of health and community interest topics, allocated to each calendar month. Information is promoted through a variety of media including: information displays, leaflets, posters, plasma screens presentations, clinics or events. The CaféThe Café is ideally situated overlooking the canal and this provides a tranquil environment where learners can relax and enjoy the healthy selection of freshly cooked meals and snacks. Home baking and a selection of delicious coffees are served daily. ChaplainEast Dunbartonshire Campus's Chaplain is available on request, and can be contacted through the Campus Reception. Beauty SalonThe Campus Beauty Salon offers a full range of treatments at specific times throughout the session. These include waxing, facials, massage and nail treatments.
