Cumbernauld College Art students and staff received a visit from the world renowned, award winning professional Graphic Novel Illustrator -Vincent Deighan (who works under the pseudonym Frank Quietly).

Vincent presented his past and present works to the students and had a vast amount of experience and expertise to share as he has produced work for Marvel and DC Comics on such things as Batman and Robin, Superman and the X-Men.

Steven Hart, College's Art and Design lecturer commented;

"For a professional artist of Vincent's stature to visit our students has given them a fantastic opportunity to know what the industry expects from them and the level of expertise that they need to deliver."

Art and Design student, Kirsty McMurray stated;

"Some may think that there is not a lot involved in drawing for a comic. This could not be further from the truth. Vincent explained all the aspects that you need to consider, for example, the perspective that the drawing should be viewed from to ensure that the story is clear and interesting. It was great being able to meet Vincent and getting to know what it is like in the industry."
